SPECstorage® Solution 2020 V1.0.1 Release Notes

Fixes and Enhancements

  • Fixes to enable running GENOMICS on Windows platforms.
  • Fixes to enable running on Windows platforms using different launch methods
    • WMIC
    • PowerShell
    • OpenSSH
    • Documentation on usage see: “Admin notes for running SPECstorage.docx”
  • Align pthread mutexes to avoid split cache line performance impact.
  • Moved the client initialize logging down a few lines so that the Windows authentication is completed first. This is needed or the security model will block access to anything other than drive C: This is what was preventing the Windows users from moving the netmist logs to anywhere other than the default C:tmp
  • Fixed support for native 4k sector devices that do not have 512e capabilities.
  • Improved the error messages when internal state machine detects a problem.
  • Eliminated false errors when top level directories are first initialized.
  • Added intrusion warning if a user defined monitor script takes too long to complete, while blocking the measurement.
  • Fixed compiler warnings found with analytics.
  • Adding informal statistical power measurement data to submissions. See section 2.4 of the Run and Reporting rules in “SPECstorage2020_run_rules.docx”
